Their office is in the campus warehouse. Telephone Numbers: 6408726 6408484 6409891 Emergency Number: 6408222 Entrance to the Campus The campus has eight gates, three for pedestrians and cars and five for pedestrians only. The main gate, number eight, is unshut 24 hours a day. The other gates are unshut 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.  On Fridays and holiday eves, these gates are unshut until 4:00 PM. Entrance to the campus is permitted only during these hours and only via the gates. Examination of Property Personal effects must be shown at the gate for inspection, and students must identify themselves upon request. Entrance to the campus will be refused to anyone who does not identify himself or indulge inspection of his personal effects. On-campus Parking This is by permit only. Parking permits can be obtained through the New York State/American Program office and are issued on the understructure of availability. Driving and parking on-campus are in vibrations with the university traffic and parking regulations. Parking in nonobservance of instructions constitutes an offense and is punishable by disciplinary action. Animals on Campus Bringing animals into campus buildings is forbidden unless by special permission of the legalistic throne of the faculty. This does not wield to laboratory research animals and guide dogs for the blind. Suspicious Objects Abandoned objects are viewed as suspicious. The zone must be evacuated and security personnel called. A siren with successive upper and low tones is a warning watchtower indicating that the towers must be evacuated as directed by the security personnel on site. Weapons Weapons are not unliable on campus except by permit from the Security Department. Unauthorized weapons must be deposited with the Security Department. Weapons are veritably forbidden in lecture halls and classrooms. Personal Property Personal possessions are the responsibility of each person. The Security Department must be informed in all cases of theft and loss. Lost property should be turned over to the towers maintenance staff. Removing Equipment from University Premises This is forbidden unless authorized by the sense to which the equipment belongs. Anyone removing equipment will be requested to show proof of ownership or permit authorizing removal. Safety Safety regulations are issued by the University and wield to all students and staff. Transgressions are punishable by disciplinary action. Safe Laboratory Conduct Laboratory work is carried out in the presence of an instructor or laboratory staff worker. Students may not remain in a laboratory vacated without working hours or work in laboratories on Saturdays or holidays. All materials and equipment are handled and distributed by the instructor. Dangerous agents, including poisons, carcinogens, and infectious and radioactive substances, may be handled only with special permission and in the presence of the instructor. Students must comply with regulations regarding protective suit and equipment such as safety glasses. Mishaps must be reported immediately to the instructor. Students may not remove furniture or equipment from a laboratory, or place them where they will hinder evacuation of the towers in an emergency. Students must be familiar with the layout of the laboratory. This includes:  Location of dangerous teachers such as gases and chemicals, and their markings and correct usage Arrangements for disposal of dangerous waste materials Placement of gas, water and air taps; main electric fuses Safety shower and eye wash sink; first aid equipment Personal safety equipment and fire extinguishers. In the event of a mishap, Students must be familiar with all exits from the room and from the floor. They must take part in one evacuation drill per year. Accidents must be reported immediately to an instructor or staff member, and students must act as instructed. They must be familiar with the emergency numbers listed on the telephones. Students are forbidden to work with an instrument or equipment that is dirty, not in proper working condition, or that has not undergone safety testing. They may not tamper with instruments or electrical connections. Food and drink and non-laboratory equipment are not to be brought into the laboratory. Universal Precautions to Prevent Health Hazards Consider all blood, visibly underdone secretions and fluids and genital secretions from all patients as infectious. Wear gloves when exposure to blood, underdone fluids, or genital secretions may occur. Change your gloves and wash your hands without each procedure and surpassing contact with flipside patient.  Wear a mask and goggles when thoroughbred or underdone fluids may splash into your face.  Wear a waterproof gown when thoroughbred or underdone fluids may soak through a reticulum gown. Medical students working with patients in the clinical institutions united with the SacklerSenseof Medicine should report immediately all incidents of exposure of the pursuit nature to thoroughbred and bodily fluid: parenteral (needlestick or cut) mucous membrane (splash to eye, nose or mouth) cutaneous (contact with thoroughbred or soul fluids on ungloved hands or other skin surfaces that may be cut, chapped, abraded, or unauthentic by zippy dermatitis). Parenteral Exposure Risks Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV What you should do if exposed: Immediate response: Force transude site if possible Clean wound with soap and water (special products are not necessary)Wielddirect pressure if needed Flush mucous membranes with water or saline for 3-5 minutesWithoutFirst Aid:Withoutexposure, students should promptly notify their supervising house officer or peekaboo physician or the infection tenancy office in the institution where the incident occurred to evaluate possible treatment options. Prohibited Activities Medical school towers regulations forbid smoking in all classrooms during matriculation and breaks. Currency transactions may not be carried out on medical school grounds. Games and ball-playing are forbidden in the vicinity of the building. First Aid The first aid station is located in the Central Library, telephone 6408666. The station is unshut Sunday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During the summer, it is unshut only until 3:30 PM (until end of October). In addition, every campus towers is equipped with a first aid kit in the towers maintenance office. Paramedics are asked to requite first aid in specimen of emergency. Students may volunteer as paramedics through the first aid station, and will be recruited in specimen of emergency.
